Known as the Chosen amongst themselves, and feared by all -- the Forsaken are the thirteen most powerful chanellers (called Aes Sedai in the Age of Legends) who pledged their souls to the Dark One in exchange for immortality and power beyond all imagining. Sounds good, doesn't it? ;)
Technically speaking, the Forsaken are one group of many antagonists in The Wheel of Time universe, and rank just below the Dark One himself. What sets them apart from the run-of-the-mill evil minions of terror is that they all have different, complex histories and motives for joining the Dark -- their conflicting range of personalities really do show that anyone has the potential for evil.
While they seem to be getting ass-kicked by Rand and Co. in the later books, the Forsaken are still a formidable bunch. But then, I may be biased ;) Biographies on each Forsaken are coming soon, but for now here is the list:
